A complete series of dermatologic tests such as Wood’s light examination, direct microscopic examination, and fungal culture were performed. The isolated pathogen was identified as Microsporum canis. The animal was treated using topical and systemic ketoconazole for 4 weeks. After treatment, the lesions were completely disappeared, and there was no recurrence of skin lesions during the follow-up period. It should be noted that asymptomatic cats may carry M. canis, thus may increase the risk of fungal infections for their owners and other pets as well. This is the first documented report of M.canis infection and its treatment in a red fox.  }, keywords = {Microsporum canis,Red fox (Vulpes vulpes),Dermatophytoses}, title_fa = {عفونت میکروسپوروم کنیس در یک روباه قرمز}, abstract_fa = {یک روباه قرمز سه ماهه نر که در تماس نزدیک با یک گربه نژاد ایرانی بود با جراحات پوستی غیر خارش‌دار چند کانونی گرد در نواحی سر، صورت و اندام‌های حرکتی به بیمارستان حیوانات کوچک دانشکده دامپزشکی دانشگاه تهران ارجاع شد. مجموعه کاملی از آزمایش‌های پوستی شامل آزمایش لامپ وود، بررسی میکروسکوپی مستقیم و کشت قارچ از بیمار به عمل آمد. در کشت قارچ، میکروسپوروم کنیس به عنوان عامل پاتوژن شناسایی شد. بیمار با استفاده از کتوکونازول خوراکی و موضعی به مدت چهار هفته درمان شد. پس از پایان دوره درمانی جراحات جلدی به طور کامل بهبودی یافتند و در بررسی‌های بعدی شواهدی از پیدایش دوباره بیماری مشاهده نشد. آگاهی از این نکته که گربه‌ها می‌توانند حامل بدون علامت میکروسپوروم کنیس باشند بسیار مهم است. از آنجایی که این حیوانات به طور معمول به عنوان حیوان خانگی دست‌آموز نگهداری می‌شوند این امر ممکن است به افزایش احتمال عفونت‌های قارچی در صاحبان آن‌ها و سایر حیوانات خانگی منجر شود. این گزارش اولین مورد عفونت میکروسپوروم کنیس و درمان آن در یک روباه قرمز می‌باشد.}, keywords_fa = {میکروسپوروم کنیس,روباه قرمز,درماتوفیتوز}, url = {https://ijvr.shirazu.ac.ir/article_1674.html}, eprint = {https://ijvr.shirazu.ac.ir/article_1674_81b409984f6996a3665e34296dead99c.pdf} }
