The present study was conducted to determine the prevalence of Cryptosporidium parvum in urban and rural dogs of the Ahvaz area. Faecal samples were collected randomly from 93 dogs between May 2005 and September 2007. The studied dogs were divided into two groups (urban and rural) and based on age into three groups (<6 months, 6 months–3 years and >3 years). The results were analyzed by using Chi-square analysis and Fischer’s exact test. Prevalence to Cryptosporidium parvum antigens was 4.3% (4 of 93) by means of ELISA, indicating that this antigen is present in the ecosystem. The infection was more prevalent in rural dogs (6.4%; 3 of 47) in comparison with urban dogs (2.17%; 1 of 46), nevertheless, there were no significant differences between the different groups (P>0.05), but the infection was more prevalent in diarrheic dogs (17.65%; 3 of 17) compared with non-diarrheic dogs (1.3%; 1 of 76), and the difference was significant (P=0.019). Infection was not significant in the different age groups (P>0.05). Concurrent detection of Cryptosporidium parvum with canine distemper (one sample) and parvovirus (one sample) were shown in the studied dogs. Modified Ziehl-Neelsen staining was also carried out and the prevalence of infection was 2.15% (2 of 93). The use of ELISA allowed the detection of more positive cases than light microscopy. This study showed that Cryptosporidium parvum can be a risk factor, particularly for those dogs in contact together in the population of urban and rural dogs.}, keywords = {Cryptosporidium parvum,ELISA,dog,Ahvaz,Iran}, title_fa = {جستجوی آنتی‌ژنی کریپتوسپوریدیوم پارووم در سگ‌های شهری و روستایی شهرستان اهواز، جنوب غرب ایران}, abstract_fa = { کریپتوسپوریدیوم پارووم یک انگل تک یاخته‌ای مشترک بین انسان و دام بوده و تعداد زیادی از میزبانان مهره‌دار را مبتلا می‌کند. مطالعه اخیر جهت تعیین شیوع کریپتوسپوریدیوم پارووم در سگ‌های شهری و روستایی منطقه اهواز انجام شده بود. نمونه‌های مدفوع از 93 قلاده سگ به صورت تصادفی و در فاصله اردیبهشت ماه 1384 تا شهریور ماه 1386 به دست آمدند. سگ‌های تحت مطالعه به 2 گروه (شهری و روستایی) و بر اساس سن به 3 گروه (کمتر از 6 ماه، 6 ماه تا 3 سال و بالای 3 سال) تقسیم بندی شدند. نتایج به دست آمده با استفاده از آزمون مربع کای و آزمون دقیق فیشر مورد آنالیز قرار گرفتند. میزان شیوع کریپتوسپوریدیوم پارووم در این سگ‌ها، 3/4% (4 تا از 93 مورد)، با استفاده از روش الایزا به دست آمد و این نشان می‌دهد که آنتی‌ژن آن در اکوسیستم محیط موجود است. اگر چه میزان شیوع عفونت در سگ‌های روستایی (3 تا از 47 مورد؛ 4/6%) در مقایسه با سگ‌های شهری (یکی از 46 مورد؛ 17/2%) بیشتر بود اما تفاوت معنی‌داری از نظر آماری بین گروه‌های مختلف دیده نشدند (P>0.05). با این وجود عفونت، شیوع بیشتری در سگ‌های اسهالی (3 تا از 17 مورد؛ 65/17%) در مقایسه با سگ‌های غیر اسهالی (یکی از 76 مورد؛ 3/1%) داشت و تفاوت از نظر آماری نیز معنی‌دار بود .(P=0.019) عفونت بین گروه‌های سنی مختلف نیز معنی‌دار نبود (P>0.05). وقوع همزمان کریپتوسپوریدیوم پارووم با دیستمپر (1 نمونه) و پاروویروس (1 نمونه) در سگ‌های مورد مطالعه دیده شد. رنگ‌آمیزی زیل-نلسون تغییر شکل یافته نیز انجام شده بود و شیوع عفونت 15/2% (2 تا از 93 مورد) به دست آمد. این مطالعه نشان داد که کریپتوسپوریدیوم پارووم می‌تواند به عنوان یک فاکتور خطر، به ویژه برای سگ‌هایی که در تماس با یکدیگر هستند در جمعیت سگ‌های شهری و روستایی مطرح باشد.}, keywords_fa = {کریپتوسپوریدیوم پارووم,الایزا,سگ,اهواز,ایران}, url = {https://ijvr.shirazu.ac.ir/article_143.html}, eprint = {https://ijvr.shirazu.ac.ir/article_143_ece32f9f1e672a0d358448f503869a91.pdf} }
