The causative organism is transmitted by female sandflies. Cutaneous, mucocutaneous, and visceral clinical manifestations are the most frequent forms of leishmaniasis. Chemotherapy still relies on the use of pentavalent antimonials, amphotericin B, paromomycin, miltefosin and liposomal amphotericin B. However, the application ofthese drugs is limited due to low efficacy, life-threatening side effects, high toxicity, induction of parasite resistance, length of treatment and high cost. Given the fact that antileishmanial vaccines may not become available in the near future, the search for better drugs should be continued. Natural products may offer an unlimited source of chemical diversity to identify new drug modules. New medicines should be less toxic or non-toxic, safe, more efficient, less expensive and readily available antileishmanial agents, especially for low-income populations. In the present review, special focus is on medicinal plants used against leishmanaiasis. The bioactive phytocompounds present in the plant derivatives including the crude extracts, essential oils, and other useful compounds can be a good source for discovering and producing new antileishmanial medicines.}, keywords = {Leishmaniasis,treatment,Pentavalent antimonials,Plant extracts}, title_fa = {استفاده از ترکیبات مشتق شده از گیاهان در درمان لیشمانیازیس}, abstract_fa = {لیشمانیازیس یک معضل بهداشت عمومی نادیده گرفته شده ناشی از گونه‌های تک یاخته‌ای متعلق به جنس لیشمانیا است که عمدتاً جمعیت‌های فقیر کشورهای در حال توسعه را تحت تاثیر قرار می‌دهد. ارگانیسم مسبب توسط پشه‌های خاکی ماده منتقل می‌شوند. تظاهرات جلدی، مخاطی-جلدی و بالینی احشایی شایع‌ترین اشکال بیماری لیشمانیازیس می‌باشند. شیمی درمانی همچنان بر استفاده از ترکیبات آنتیموان پنج ظرفیتی، آمفوتریسین بی، پارومومایسین، میلتفوزین و آمفوتریسین بی لیپوزومی وابسته است. هر چند، کاربرد این داروها به دلیل اثربخشی اندک، عوارض جانبی تهدید کننده زندگی، سمیت بالا، القای مقاومت انگلی، دوره درمان و هزینه بالا محدود می‌شوند. با توجه به این حقیقت که واکسن‌های آنتی-لیشمانیا ممکن است در آینده نزدیک در دسترس نباشند، جستجو برای داروهای بهتر باید ادامه یابد. محصولات طبیعی منبع نامحدودی از تنوع شیمیایی برای شناسایی نمونه‌های جدید دارویی را ارائه می‌دهند. داروهای جدید بایستی سمیت کمتر داشته یا غیر سمی، ایمن، کارآمدتر، ارزان‌تر و به ویژه برای جمعیت‌های کم درآمد به راحتی در دسترس باشند. در مطالعه تحلیلی حاضر، توجه ویژه‌ای بر گیاهان دارویی مورد استفاده در برابر بیماری لیشمانیازیس قرار دارد. ترکیبات گیاهی زیست فعال موجود در مشتقات گیاهی از قبیل عصاره‌های خام، روغن‌های ضروری یا اسانس و سایر ترکیبات مفید می‌توانند منبع خوبی برای کشف و تولید داروهای آنتی-لیشمانیا جدید باشند.}, keywords_fa = {لیشمانیازیس,درمان,آنتیمونیال‌های پنج ظرفیتی,عصاره‌های گیاهی}, url = {https://ijvr.shirazu.ac.ir/article_2917.html}, eprint = {https://ijvr.shirazu.ac.ir/article_2917_ca840e089a0d0c2b2aa55bf84d5cb5dc.pdf} }
